Memorandum
Memorandum these images were exhibited at Modica in 2015 in the annual "Welcome to paradise" art exhibition.
Memorandum thus is a story on persons affected by Alzheimer's which takes place in the house of the sufferer, in the carehome and in the museums in Florence which hosts the project 'A piu' voci'.
A memorandun, a commonly used piece of paper which helps people remember, becomes frequently used both by the person who suffers from mild Alzheimer's and their carer.
Nicola, constantly wants to remind himself of his name, his memory gradually deteriorates so does his awareness of his own identity. This fragmented memory thus becomes used to form other links. Ugo for example whilst observing the wheel of his wheelchair goes back to his past job when he used to repair bicycles.
Those years in which a person lives with Alzheimer's are characterised by a progressive decline in the cognitive functions. Thus this state of biwelderment, apathy, fixation and iner isolation encloses the suferer more and more.
Promemoria
Queste immagini sono state esposte a Modica nel 2014 nell'annuale mostra d'arte Welcome to Paradise. Promemoria e' un racconto su persone affette da Alzheimer svolto in un'abitazione di un malato, in una RSA e nell'attivita' di educazione 'A piu' voci' in alcuni musei a Firenze.
Promemoria, un biglietto comunemente usato da chiunque per ricordare qualcosa, diventa di uso frequente in un contesto di Alzheimer, sia per il malato sia da chi se prende cura.
Nicola vuole continuamente ricordare a se' il suo nome, la memoria svanisce gradualmente e anche la coscienza della propria identita' viene cancellata. La memoria frammentata viene cosi' usata con altri collegamenti, Ugo ispeziona la ruota di una carrozzina e ritorna cosi' al suo vecchio mestiere di biciclettaio.
Gli anni durante i quali una persona vive con l'Alzheimer sono segnati da livelli progressivi di decadimento delle capacita' cognitive. Lo stato di smarrimento, di apatia, fissazione, l'isolamento interiore diventa sempre piu' avvolgente.
